SpiceJet seems to acquire rival airline

Low-cost SpiceJet, which has attracted $ 80 million investment from American billionaire Wilbur Ross last year, seeks to acquire a rival budget airlines, and start international and regional operations, "said Chief the executive.

"We look at inorganic growth," says Sanjay Aggarwal SpiceJet CEO, adds that the low-cost airline will be given preference for the acquisition.

It expects to achieve an agreement in 8-10 months, but he refused to confirm whether the company based in Gurgaon is currently in discussion with a competitor for a possible takeover.

There is speculation in the past SpiceJet in talks with low-cost airlines, GoAir and Indigo, to be acquired.

About the international plans, Mr Aggarwal said: "There are some markets in the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia who have little." These destinations are close enough to be served by the existing fleet of SpiceJet, which has four years of operation and are eligible to fly abroad after one year.

Mr Aggarwal said it was logical for international SpiceJet because most of these international routes are served by full-service airlines that operate on a 30% higher costs.

The carrier is evaluating the options of the home fly regional routes. This means a special operation, such as regional airlines to smaller cities to connect and subways are not allowed to connect two hours away.
It is unclear exactly how SpiceJet should finance a possible acquisition. Mr Aggarwal said the company would be able to raise funds to finance a transaction. Eventually, the company would hinge Ross financial muscle to see continue.

With the delay that passengers move to low cost airlines, service airlines such as Jet and Kingfisher now more aircraft at a low cost of their divisions.

Mr. Aggarwal, but took the threat: "Only 7-8 of Jet and Kingfisher's new low-cost flights overlap with ours. Therefore, no influence on us. "
