Banaras Hindu University Overview

Banaras Hindu University is one of the first in the country in terms of academic output and research. The university has two campuses, 3 institutes, 16 faculties, 140 departments, 4 increased by 4 interdisciplinary centers and schools. The university is making its mark nationally and internationally in certain border areas of the sciences, social sciences, technology, medicine and agriculture etc.

BHU, the Rajiv Gandhi South Campus Barkachha about 75 km south-west of Varanasi in 2760 acres of land. Hostel and residential

There are 60 hostels (17 girls Hostel), with a capacity of 9128 students (7003 boys and 2125 girls) on campus. The university provides housing for teachers and staff.
