Walchand College of Engineering is located halfway between the cities and Vishrambaug Sangli Miraj, Sangli. The WCE campus is located on nearly 102.50 acres of land on the south side of Sangli - Miraj road.

In 1947, the college with a modest beginning engineering curriculum. (BE Civil), with a storage capacity of 60. Then, under graduate programs in electrical and mechanical engineering, BE (Elec) and BE (mechanical), with storage capacity of 60, were in the years 1950 and 1951
respectively.

PG courses in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering and diploma in industrial electronics was introduced in 1971. In 1986, the UG and PG courses in electronic engineering and UG courses in computer science and engineering have been introduced.

PG course CSE was introduced in 1997. In 2001, "said BE Courses for Information Technology with an intake of 60 students. An additional 30 students was also punished for Computer Science & Engineering courses, resulting in the total intake of 390 students from all branches and at 106 to UG PG level.
