The Thapar University is today recognized among the leading private grants engineering institutions in the country and the best of its kind in the north-western India. NAAC, an autonomous body of UGC, has accredited Thapar University at the B + + with renowned universities at the institutional level score of 82%.

TTC in its three institutions namely, TU, TP and TCIRD, is now a unique campus in our country with extraordinary potential for the development of technologies and industry.
Center of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) was established by the University Thapar TIFAC Mission REACH of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India in the first phase of the creation of eight hearts at various institutes and universities across the country.

Science and Technology Entrepreneur's Park (STEP) was established by the Thapar University and DST, Govt. of India.

Thapar University has impressively grown in size and activities over the past five decades of its existence. Nearly 10,500 engineers have left its portals so far, which is the most proud Thaparians in various regions of our country and aboard. If a recognition of his pioneering role in promoting growth and development, both nationally and internationally, Thapar University was granted full autonomy and the status of a deemed university in 1985, UGC.
