The King George Medical College, Lucknow, founded in 1911, is a major medical institutions of higher education in the country by an act which the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002, the college was transferred a new university, known as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University. The institution is committed to the dissemination and promotion of knowledge in biomedical sciences and to become a center of excellence in teaching at the level of healthcare in the state
